RFoG – RF over Glass
If you’re a network operator (MSO, cable operator or Telco) seeking to expand your OSP (outside) plant—for example to add new subdivisions--CCI engineers can assist you with a low cost form of fiber to the home with RFoG (RF over Glass).
PON networks require a significant investment in both headend hardware and software. RFoG runs fiber all the way to house and it runs using the same RF headend that HFC already uses. It is a great transitional architecture. And the cost of RFoG in rural areas is about the same cost as HFC. With RFoG you can promote to your market that you offer fiber-to-the-home technology—and save money too.
